New Faces in the Library
OC Libraries said goodbye to three longtime librarians last year, and recently welcomed two new adjunct library faculty. Dan McClure comes to us from Portland, where he most recently worked as Director of Library Services for the Pacific Northwest College of Art. Meredith Tummeti is a recent graduate of the MLIS program at the University of Wisconsin- Milwaukee. She has worked for Kitsap Regional Library and currently also works for the Central Kitsap School District. Welcome Dan & Meredith, we are so happy you’re here!
Thanks to the Library’s generous Haselwood Endowment, the Haselwood Library has recently renovated a large study room for students to practice presentations and work collaboratively in teams. The presentation practice space is equipped with a projector, computer, and webcam so students can also record presentations to review or submit for class. Students with required presentations will benefit from being able to practice in a space that is similar to the classroom environment. The collaborative space allows up to six students to connect laptops/tablets and take turns sharing to a large screen, much like an active learning classroom. Students working in groups will benefit from the ability to collaborate on projects in a space conducive to sharing and building new knowledge.
